Soup for the Soul

During Lent we will host a special event every Sunday evening called Soup for the Soul.  Come for food, fellowship, and enrichment.  Our first guest speaker is Dr. Lisa Wilson Davison, Ph.D. and Professor of Hebrew Bible Theological Seminary.

    • In addition to her book, Preaching the Women of the Bible (Chalice Press, 2006), Dr. Davison wrote the “Job Commentary” for The New Interpreter’s Study Bible (Abingdon Press, 2003) and the introductory essays on the major prophets for The College Study Bible (St. Mary’s Press, 2007).  She has an essay in Tabletalk (Chalice Press, 2003) and contributed entries for the Encyclopedia of the Stone-Campbell Movement  (Eerdmans, 2005).  Several of her articles have appeared in DisciplesWorld magazine.  Dr. Davison recently had a sermon included in Those Preaching Women: A Multicultural Collection (Judson, 2008) and write for the New Proclamation Series, Year C (Fortress, 2009). 

    • We are now officially partnered with Lanier Elementary School (Tulsa Public).  This means our members act as mentors and tutors as well as supporting the school by collecting classroom supplies and helping out in other ways.
