Trinity Class Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable week-end. These up-coming weeks are going to busy and exciting ones in the life of our church with our new minister beginning his leadership of our congregation. Let's all plan to be here Sunday as Fred leads us in worship. There will be many opportunities for each of us to begin anew as members and servants of this church. I'm sure Fred will have new ideas about ways we can serve this church and our Lord. We look forward to seeing you in class on Sunday as we continue our study of "The Jesus I Never Knew." The next chapter is - Profile: What I have Noticed. If you want to help with the Rogers' football dinners contact members of the Parables class or show up at 5 pm on dinner days to help. Keep our church in your prayers as we begin this new chapter in the life of our church. Sharon |

Parables As we await the coming of our new minister, Rev. Fred Turner , we turn our attention to the days before the coming of the Lord and what God wants in our lives. Marilyn Brinkman moderated the lesson by summarizing the book of James as emphasizing faith in action. Right living is the evidence and result of faith. The church must serve with compassion, speak lovingly and truthfully, be in obedience to God's commands, and love one another. Our lives are to be an example of heaven on earth, drawing people to Christ . If we truly believe God's word, we will live it day by day. God's word is not merely something we read or think about, but something we do. Belief, faith ,and trust must have our hands and feet! On Labor Day weekend, several Parables were out of town or serving in other places. We welcomed Sharon McKee as a one time guest. The fall garage sale was accepted as a joint Parables project for the second week of October. This week the first Rogers dinner will be served. With these opportunities presented, come, work, and witness. Choose to be on God's team. Peace and love, Marilyn |

ATTENTION ALL WOMEN! Summer is almost over. School bells have rung. And there even seems to be a hint of Fall in the air. Which means it is time to "kick off" our CWF meetings. Plans have been made for our first one on Thursday, September 11th. We will start with lunch at 12:00 in Fellowship Hall, followed by an interesting program. Rev. Loma Sullivan and Marilee Hattendorf, participants in a recent Mission trip to Haiti and the Dominican Republic, will be sharing their experience with slides and stories. We have invited other CWF groups who expressed an interest in hearing this program to come join us. So we hope many of you will be here to welcome any guests we may have. We do need reservations for the lunch (cost $5.00). Please call the church office by Friday, September 5th. |

I'd like to thank everyone who has made it possible for my grandson, Garrett Burleigh, to be a part of the East Side Sunday School program. For those of you who don't know--Garrett is 8 and he is autistic. Autism is a most frustrating thing and working with these kiddos is incredibly fatiguing. I cannot express my gratitude strongly enough to each and every one who makes his Sundays possible. When I pick him up on Saturdays the first thing he frequently says is "going to Sunny School?" As trying and frustrating as I know he can be--you have created a place for him that he loves to return to—-God's Blessings to you all. Fondly, Susan Byars |

And this will be a good time to bring new (or like new) books for our Retreat Service Project: "Books for Tots & Teens". These will be distributed to children in foster care, and various shelters and programs. Thanks for your help! |
