SPECIAL EVENTS

 

 

ADVISORY BOARD ELECTIONS, ALL WEEK JUNE 2-6.   All members in good standing are eligible to vote for the members of the 2008-09 East Side Senior Center Advisory Board.  Be sure to vote when you come in!

 

PSO ENERGY LIGHT TOWN HALL MEETING, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Thursday, June 12 in the Church Sanctuary.  PSO representatives will be here to discuss recent rate increases and what to expect in the future.

 

MUSICAL MONDAYS, 7:00 pm, Monday, June 30, Monte Cassino School.  The third of this year’s popular spring concert series features Rick Fortner and Booker Gillespie.  Tickets are $7 each per concert.  Call 664-9000 for tickets.    

 

GARDEN CLUB, Friday, June 13 and Friday, June 27, 1:30 pm.   If you like to garden and want to help beautify our outdoor patio area join us.  Contact Jo Thompson for more information.

 

 

 

HEALTH & FITNESS

 

 

LINE DANCING WITH DOROTHY – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 11:00 am – Noon.  Get together with other East Side Senior Center members and have an hour of fun and activity.  This is our most popular activity!

 

CHAIR AEROBICS WITH LIZ HUME Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 am – 10:00 am.  Stretching, toning and improving your cardiac fitness (exercises seated and standing).  Attend once a week for $10 a month; twice a week for $20 a month.

 

WALKING IN THE GYM, every day, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.  The gym is available for walkers Monday through Friday (except during exercise classes and when other activities are being held in the gym). 

 

 

REGULARLY SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES

 

 

BEGINNING BRIDGE LESSONS.  Fridays at 9:00 am.  East Side Senior Center member Becky Gange is giving bridge lessons to members who’d like to learn to play or those who just need to brush up on their skills.  Put on your thinking caps and learn a new card game!

 

BIRTHDAY LUNCH – Tuesday, June 3, Noon.  Celebrate the month’s birthdays and eat a great lunch.  $3.50 each. 

 

BRUNCH – Tuesday, June 10, 10:30 am.   $2.50 per person. 

 

FATHERS’ DAY LUNCH – Tuesday, June 17, Noon.  Join us for lunch and stay for the fun.  $3.50 each. 

 

EAST SIDE BAND – every Monday at 1:00 pm.  Join the Band!  If you play an instrument bring it to East Side and play along.  If you don’t play, come enjoy the music and sing along.  The band is looking for some new members so come join in!

 

CERAMICS – Tuesdays, 1:00 pm.  Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, come express your artistic side. 

 

GRUMPY OLD MEN’S BREAKFAST – every Friday at 8:30 am.  Men, start your day off right with a good breakfast and the company of the other East Side Senior Center Men!  Women, you’re welcome too!

 

MEET & EAT, Tuesday, June 24, 11:30 am.  We’re going back to Golden Corral this month.  Either meet at the Center at 11:15 and carpool, or meet us at the Golden Corral at 11:30.

 

BUNKO, Wednesday, June 4, 11 and 18, 1:00 pm.  Sign up to play.  We’ll all have fun.

 

BINGO, Wednesday, June 25, 1:00 pm.  Come join the fun and win some silly prizes.

 

 

 

MORE ABOUT East Side SENIOR CENTER

Membership in East Side Senior Center is open to individuals age 55 and over, and their spouses. Membership dues are $15.00 per year. Members in good standing may participate in all activities, classes and special events of the Center. The Center is staffed Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. East Side Senior Center is a program of LIFE Senior Services, a United Way Agency. The mission of LIFE Senior Services is to provide education, information and services that promote independence, quality of life and dignity for residents of northeastern Oklahoma.
